Stone Tool Replicas

Aggravated Neanderthals teaching collections include replicas of the most common types of stone tools made by early humans.  Each set is made of the raw materials (flint or quartzite) that most closely duplicate real artifacts, so that they have an authentic look and feel.  Our replicas cost approximately half of the price of casts of stone tools currently offered by museums, and are much more durable.  In addition, unlike real archaeological specimens or casts, our tools can be used by students or instructors to actually perform the cutting and scraping tasks for which they were designed.  This “hands-on” capability makes these sets particularly useful in helping students understand the nature of prehistoric technology.  Each set includes an illustrated guide to the fundamentals of stone technology, and descriptions of the tools included in the set.
